Using computers has become a more pressing necessity for our residents through the pandemic, to keep in touch with loved ones through Zoom , email, etc. We are always impressed at how many of our residents have embraced IT and made a real effort to use it. We are also aware that from time to time things stop working or residents encounter something they don’t understand. We are not experts ourselves, but when a resident has requested help from us we have usually been able to resolve the problem.
Another source of help we have become aware of is https://abilitynet.org.uk/. Their goal is to support people of any age, living with any disability or impairment to use technology. They offer free advice or information, including free IT support at home.
Finally, Lewes Library are offering free IT for You sessions on learning or improving your computer use skills. The session lasts an hour, and is one-to-one with a trained volunteer. To book a session, call 01323 463759.
